Frito-Lay’s design team partnered with Collide to launch a special Valentine’s Day limited time offering: Lays Milk Chocolate Chips. In addition to custom flexible packaging, they requested premium presentation kits that would echo the sophistication of luxury chocolate or liquor packaging. The challenge? Deliver everything, from design to delivery, within 10 business days.
OUR APPROACH
To create the striking neon effect on the chip bags, Collide’s studio team layered white ink gradients beneath vibrant colored inks, printing on a glossy metallic substrate for maximum shelf appeal. Real-time collaboration via FaceTime allowed the Frito-Lay team to view press adjustments live, ensuring we landed on the perfect look quickly and efficiently.
For the presentation kits, our team used premium materials including silk fabric, metallic prints, foil stamping, and authentic candy pad interiors. The result was a luxurious unboxing experience worthy of a Valentine’s Day spotlight.
